STANDARD FIVE: Managerial Leadership
School executives will ensure that the school has processes and systems in place for budgeting, staffing, problem solving, communicating expectations and scheduling the at result in organizing the work routines in the building. The school executive must be responsible for the monitoring of the school budget and the inclusion of all teachers in the budget decisions so as to meet the 21st century needs of every classroom. Effectively and efficiently managing the complexity of every day life is critical for staff to be able to focus its energy on improvement.
A. School Resources and Budget: The school executive establishes budget processes and systems which are focused on, and result, in improved student achievement
I worked with a group of principal residents to develop a school budget proposal for the school year. That includes how we would spend local, state, and federal funds.
B. Conflict Management and Resolution: The school executive effectively and efficiently manages the complexity of human interaction so that the focus of the school can be on improved student achievement.
Sat in on several conferences with Mrs. Sanchez, parents, and the teacher to resolve conflicts that were in need of mediation.
C. Systematic Communication: The school executive designs and utilizes various forms of formal and informal communication so that the focus of the school can be on improved student achievement.
I created a spreadsheet for teachers to input formative assessment data prior to meetings to keep the team focused on facts about students.

I created a document with strategies to implement best instructional practices around equity. Our desire is more equitable classrooms so we have been training teachers and providing the necessary resources.

D. School Expectation for Student and Staff: The school executive develops and enforces expectations, structures, rules and procedures for students and staff.
To ensure we were able to maintain coverage and provide quality instruction in the event of a teacher's absence, I provided guidance to help prepare for their absence.
The Lunch Count form ensures that we have accurate counts for lunch, kept students socially distanced, and allowed everyone to receive lunch in a timely manner without students waiting in line.
